I was humbled to be involved in a very special program this summer. The Cal Poly SLO Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE)conducts a “Summer Accelerators” program which is a fast paced program where groups of selected students go through the rigors of starting a company.
I was asked to be a “Mentor” and hold office hours as a resource for the students to ask questions or gain additional coaching. I also did a presentation with my friend and President of Service Champions, Kevin Comerford, that focused on the importance of strategic goals and having a proper mindset when running a company.
The education and experience gained by these students, regardless of whether or not their company idea takes off, is truly amazing!
My hat is off to the incredibly talented faculty who run this top notch program, but the true stars of the program are the students themselves. What an incredible group of hungry, humble and smart young people! Rest assured, the economic future of America will be positively impacted by these talented students!
